Mohun Bagan Super Giant Secures ISL Final Spot
Thanks to a dramatic late goal from Lalengmawia ‘Apuia’ Ralte, Mohun Bagan Super Giant has reached the final of the Indian Super League for the third consecutive year. They achieved this feat by overcoming Jamshedpur FC with a 3-2 aggregate score in the semifinals, which concluded on Monday.
After suffering a 2-1 defeat in the first leg last week, MBSG turned the tables with a convincing 2-0 win in the second leg at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium. They are now set to face Bengaluru FC in the championship match scheduled for Saturday.
The final will also take place at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium. Jason Cummings opened the scoring for the ISL league shield winners with a penalty in the 51st minute, and Ralte sealed the victory with a goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
